The forum is the mechanism that the American Cancer Society will use to deliver the mission elements above to the African American community. The American Cancer Society will host a forum on February 7, 2009 for African American men to highlight the cancer risks for African American men and offer strategies to reduce these risks. Information will also be provided on prevention of heart disease and diabetes.
Medical experts will present useful and practical information on disease prevention, early detection, and available community resources. In addition, there will be onsite screenings for prostate cancer, blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol.
This first-ever, family-friendly event is FREE and includes:
